Day 59 of Insanity was the Max Interval Circuit workout and it definitely was crazy. There were a couple of people walking around the indoor track in the gym area of the YMCA and they asked me what type of workout I was doing. I told them that it’s a really tough cardio workout called “Insanity.” They said that they thought the name was appropriate based on what they saw me doing.
Then their next lap they said, “we were trying to figure out whether the workout is insane or the person doing it is insane” and I told them “it’s definitely a little bit of both.” Although I laughed a little bit, the truth is that the average person is not going to be able to cut it when it comes to these workouts – especially in Month 2 – unless they are in relatively good shape or and are really mentally tough. Anyways, at least this time during the workout I didn’t have a stomach ache; last week I did (Day 54 Insanity Max Interval Circuit).
Day 59 of Insanity: Max Interval Circuit
Talking to peeps at the YMCA about this workout
It seems that everyone loves to ask me what workouts I am doing these days for some reason… There is always a woman at the Y who always sees me every morning and she asks whether the workouts are getting easier for me. I had to explain that none of these workouts are getting easier, but I am getting in better shape. Other people that stop in the gym either look at me like I’m crazy or end up talking to me briefly at the beginning or the end of my workout. Nobody disturbs me during the workout (I look way too intense for someone to actually ask what I’m doing while working out). One guy asked me if I was doing P90X and I explained that I had already done 2 rounds of P90X and that this workout is probably tougher, but a lot different.
Max Interval Circuit: How did it go for me today?
Well, it was my last day doing the Max Interval Circuit workout of this Insanity program, so I’m pretty happy about that. The toughest exercises for me were definitely the following: Frog Jumps, Pedal Power Jumps, Full Body Drills, Ski Abs/Push Up Jacks/In and Outs/Oblique Push Ups, and the Side Suicide Jumps. Also, the Plank Punches were pretty damn crazy because my shoulders were burning to the max. I needed all of the water that I could get during my breaks and was glad that I was able to dig deeper and make it through another crazy (insane) workout.
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s workout
Tomorrow I have the Core Cardio and Balance – which will be tough, but a lot nicer than going to the gym and getting my ass kicked for an hour with Shaun T’s cardio/plyo/conditioning exercises. I feel super relaxed almost to the point that I’d like to take a nap or lay down right now (it’s been about 2 hours since I finished the workout). Anyways, bye bye Max Interval Circuit – it’s been nice knowing ya…haha
