Day 61 Insanity: Max Interval Plyo (Last Time R.I.P.)

by Drew on July 22, 2011

Day 61 of Insanity was the Max Interval Plyo workout and it was as challenging as I expected it to be. I worked super hard and actually felt like I was in awesome shape during this one. I went at the same pace as the Insanity cast at the beginning of this one and then picked it up and went all out. In comparison to Day 57 Insanity Max Interval Plyo, I think that I did better today than I did then.

Today was just an awesome day from the moment that I woke up: sunny, nice weather, and I had the entire gym to myself (e.g. no distractions) at the YMCA. The toughest moves in this workout consist of things like: Level 3 Drills (e.g. 16 push ups, 16 plank runs, repeat, etc.) and Power Jumps.

Day 61 of Insanity: Max Interval Plyo

Last day doing the Max Interval Plyo workout

It felt awesome to have this be the very last day of the Max Interval Plyometrics workout. This was (in my opinion) the toughest workout in the entire Insanity program. Other exercises that were tough and required my full strength included things like: Wide In and Out Abs as well as Power Push Ups. When doing this workout, I didn’t even think about the fact that it was my last day, I just went all out and went as hard as I possibly could. I think I actually improved my reps at certain exercises like the Power Jumps – especially during the first couple sets. I am going to miss this workout for sure; it is tough and really will get you into great shape if you are able to survive your way through and dig deeper.

Thinking about what workout to do after Insanity?

I have been thinking a lot about what I should do after Insanity and to be honest, I think that I might just do another round of this program. I’ve had an awesome time with it and Shaun T is pretty damn motivating throughout these workouts. Cardio exercise is a lot of fun for me and I think that the core work that is done in each of these workouts is incredible. Also, I think that I might try to actually follow the strict diet guide rules if I do it again to see how that goes. I am aware of the fact that diet plays a huge role in health, weight, and the way my body looks so it would probably be a fairly smart idea to start eating as healthy as possible…

Only 2 Insanity workouts left! Yeah, I’m counting down…

I only have one more Month 2 workout tomorrow (Core Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs), which should be a lot of fun. I know I am going to need to dig plenty deep because it will be crazy with the abdominal exercises right after the actual workout. For the final day, I will only have to do the Fit Test (which I don’t really consider a workout); it’s more of a warm up. However, I will be trying to beat my results from Fit Test #4 – so wish me some luck! Anyways, I’m going to watch some Dexter (that killer show on HBO) today and hang out with some family that I haven’t seen in awhile; should be an awesome day for me (like you really care…haha).
