The best strategy to creating a successful blog and keeping it successful is to get yourself into a daily routine. Do you currently have a specific block of time that you set aside for blogging purposes? If you don’t, I really encourage you to consider getting one. If you already do set aside a chunk of time each day for blogging, I think that you’ve probably been much more successful than someone who doesn’t set aside daily time for blogging. Below, I’ve discussed how you can get yourself into a daily blogging routine and the various benefits that follow having a good routine.
Set aside a daily chunk of time
A good routine starts with setting aside a chunk of time for only blogging. Try to keep yourself from checking email, website statistics, and your latest adsense earnings. It doesn’t matter when the chunk of time is that you set aside for blogging. Everyone has different schedules and personal preferences as to what works best. The only thing that really matters is that you do set aside a chunk of time for blogging or blogging-related purposes. If you set aside a time block everyday from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it works out for you, then by all means — keep it up! It all comes down to finding a time that works best for your lifestyle and schedule.
I recommend early morning blogging
I personally recommend blogging in the morning if at all possible. Why do I recommend blogging in the morning? If you are able to blog each morning, it gives your visitors the entire day to read your newest article. Blogging each morning consistently lets your readers know that there will always be fresh content waiting for them to read each day. I also enjoy blogging in the morning because once I’m done, it gives me time to focus on other activities like work, school, friends, and family. If you are able to set aside an early morning chunk of time, you will seriously begin to feel much more carefree and not really worry during the day about getting your next blog article published!
Pick a time block that doesn’t interfere
Preferably, you should make the chunk of time you set aside not interfere with any other activities. It’s common sense that you probably shouldn’t sacrifice your breakfast or showering in order to blog! I recommend setting aside a chunk of time from like 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. or 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. If you have commitments during these times, consider making your blogging time earlier or later, depending on your preference. It is important to choose a time that doesn’t interfere with other activities so that you can keep yourself focused. When you chose a time block that replaces something like breakfast, your stomach will be growling, and all that you’ll be thinking about is eating breakfast! Just choose a simple time that works best for you and getting into a routine should be easy! Once you begin to get into a quality routine, you’ll begin to reap the various benefits.
What are the benefits of having a daily routine?
Take the challenge
I challenge you to set aside a chunk of time each day of preferably 2 hours for only blogging. During this time, try not to get involved in any other activity such as checking e-mail, reading other blogs, social networking programs, etc. If you can set aside the same time block each day, you will probably stay more organized and know what to expect. If you can tough it out and commit to blogging in the early morning before work, school, or any other activity, I think it will help. Remember, if you blog in the early morning, you will have the rest of your day to focus on other areas of life and will find balancing blogging with life to be relatively easy! With all that said, the main reason that I challenge you to get into a daily blogging routine is that I want to see your blog improve and help you be successful. I enjoy all my readers and really feel that this strategy will effectively boost your blogging skills and make your blog more successful than it already is! Give it a shot for at least 1 month and see how it works out. Remember to keep increasing website traffic along the way!

1Andrew, great comments.
They say that if you do something for 30 days it becomes habit forming. Because of that, I’ve tasked myself to write in my blog every day for 30 straight days.
Also, I like your reasoning behind an early morning blog time-get it blogged and on the Internet so everyone has all day to read it. For those not keen on getting up early, there is an alternative-time stamping. Write your post in the evening the day before and time stamp it to publish at 8:00 AM the next day.

2I am all about the early morning post. It is quiet in the house and once I get it all set for the day I can move on to other things.

3Hey Bryan — I have heard that after 30 days it does become habit forming. I’m not sure if I buy into it, but hey, I’m giving it a shot. I wish you luck w/ your 30 day trial. Glad you liked my reasoning for doing morning work ;)
cuzzy — I know what you mean. I don’t always get a chance to post early morn., but when I do, I have the rest of my day to focus on other things ;)
