A great way to increase overall visitors to your website is to form an alliance with like-minded bloggers. Though you may view people with your same blogging “niche” as competition, it is better to view them as friends and share some link love with them. I currently follow many websites and comment on all of them to let them know if I found their article helpful and to let them know that I enjoy reading what they publish on their blogs.

Websites that I’ve been currently following include:

  • John Cow - This is a great, fun site to follow. I recently began reading some of the articles and really enjoy them. I now am a chronic visitor. The layout is awesome! The niche is “making mooney online.”
  • 365 To Freedom - This guy has a great motto and great goal: To be able to “quit his dayjob” in just 1 year; hence the title: 365 to freedom.
  • Affiliate Confession - The man behind affiliate confession is super motivated to make money online via affiliate marketing. He has been doing affiliate marketing for 3.5 years according to his “about” section and has been able to build up his revenue to “$2,000 - 2,500″ a month. I will be following this guy’s blog because it seems to be honest and straightforward.
  • dnSEO - This site I enjoy visiting to learn more about SEO and blogging in general. The moderator of this website is very friendly and it is fun to check his progress.
  • John Chow - Though he rambles a lot about cars and restaurants, he also provides me with a lot of great information about new monetization tactics and online trends. He has some very helpful tips on his site.

I follow these blogs because I currently find them helpful and they seem to have similar blogging mentality of “making money online.” Sharing link love actually helps the blog that shares AND the other blog. So by sharing link love, you are in a win-win situation with another blogger. Though all of these blogs may be working to “make money online,” they all provide their own unique tips and strategies to make money.

Sharing Link Love = Double (2x) The Success

By sharing link love, each blog “exchanges” visitors. By “exchanges” visitors, I mean that each blog gains more visitors from the opposite blog’s reader base. This is a great way to increase RSS subscribers and build a large traffic base. Though you may not be directly working together with the other blog, you can work together to achieve similar goals. Not only does seeing one of these site’s succeed boost my overall morale, it makes me happy for them, and makes me feel more confident towards the achievement of my blogging goals. Contrary to popular belief, visitors aren’t drawn away from your website if you share link love. Each website gains in the process. It’s great to follow similar, goal-oriented blogs because you feel a sense of blogging camaraderie and pick up on new blogging tips that you otherwise would’ve missed out on!

So if you would currently like some support from the blogging community, begin reading and sincerely commenting on other blogs. It will be a great benefit for your blog and someone else’s!
