big_hug.jpgAfter recently reading about “rssHugger” on John Chow dot com, I decided to check into it more. The rssHugger was created by the 18-year-old-internet-entrepreneur, Collin LaHay. I am new to the rssHugger concept, but wanted to give it a valid shot to see if it actually helps boost blog traffic. From what I’ve read, it seems like a quality idea and I’ve got absolutely nothing to lose by trying it out!

What is rssHugger?

rssHugger is a new website developed to help bloggers promote their blogs, and to help visitors discover new blogs that write about subjects that the readers are interested in. Through the power of the internet and viral marketing, rssHugger looks to bring blog writers and blog readers closer together. If you own a blog, you can get your own page on rssHugger for 10 years for giving an honest review of the site on your blog. If you want to join rssHugger but do not want to review our site, you can pay a one time review fee of $20. rssHugger will be the first ever quality, spam free, and viral rss directory strictly for bloggers.

What is the idea behind rssHugger?

Well, I suggest that you check out this colorful diagram from their website:idea.jpg

Helpful diagram? Not really. The great thing is you do not really need to completely understand the rssHugger concept to benefit from it’s use. Just submit your site, write a review of rssHugger and evaluate your new traffic amount from the rssHugger website. I will let you all know how it works out for me after a few months by writing a review, but while you’re waiting for me to report back, why not register or at least check it out and see what you think.

The rssHugger registration requires that each user either:

  • Write a review of rssHugger

OR….

  • Pay $20 dollars of cash-money

After writing the review OR choosing to pay $20 dollars cash-money to rssHugger, you are a guaranteed to be a registered member for 10 years.

What I like about rssHugger:

  • “Top 100 Feeds” section - This section is cool because it shows the number of views per month for each top 100 rssHugger page. The “Top 100″ feature is very niiiiice because the feed count is reset each month in order to give new users a better chance to compete for a top 100 spot.
  • Organized website - The rssHugger website is very well organized and has a fairly good color scheme. Though there are a large number of links on the rssHugger site to Collin LaHay’s personal website “MixedMarketArts dot com,” the site looks good.
  • Registration is easy - rssHugger registration is very simple to follow. Check out the site and see for yourself.

There are currently only around 880 Feeds registered with rssHugger. If you don’t already have an account with them, I recommend you get in while the gettin’ is still good! Share a hug with your RSS and check out rssHugger!logo.png
