I’m going to be completely honest with you all: January 2008 did not bring AndrewPavelski dot Com much money. In fact, I made less than $10 dollars total! That is pretty weak when you’re working towards a $10 Million Dollar goal! Or is it? There were several reasons that I did not start out the first month making large amounts of money off of my website! It will happen in the near future and I can virtually guarantee that February 2008 will make more money than January 2008 could possibly handle!

Total Profits For AndrewPavelski.Com — January 2008:

  • Google Adsense = $6.87
  • Kontera TextLinks = $0.42

Grand Total: $7.29

Why I didn’t make a large amount of money:

  • Lack Of Ad-Sense — First of all, if you’ve noticed, I do not place Google Ad-Sense into each and every one of my posts. If I were to integrate ad-sense into each one of my posts, I can guarantee there would’ve been a higher earnings report. For the month of February, I’ve decided to do an experiment with my ads by adding a Google Ad-Sense advertisement into more of my posts. I’ve considered putting it into every other post and seeing how that works out.
  • Lack of Affiliates — I signed up with all of my affiliate programs throughout the month of January. It wouldn’t have even been realistic for me to start making money immediately off of my affiliate programs. Signing up for new affiliate programs can take awhile filling out the forms. I am now at least able to place an a few of my affiliate programs into the 125 x 125 advertisements in the upper right corner of my page.
  • Lack of Advertising — You’ve got to have at least somewhat of an established website before you are allowed to register with many of the major advertisement networks. Since this is the case, I was really only able to have my Google Adsense advertisements up and running. I did have 3 other advertisements in my 125 x 125 boxes in the upper right corner: Text-Link-Ads, Bidvertiser, and Hostmonster — which each definitely got clicks, just weren’t able to generate any profits.

Plans for February 2008:

For February 2008, I’ve definitely got more options, more advertising, and should definitely earn more money than January 2008! Now that I’ve got my affiliate programs set up, and have signed up with over 30 different advertising networks, I am able to start earning money from them. I have also installed the “scratchback” widget on my sidebar and have figured out how to add another row of three 125 x 125 advertisements. Throughout the month of February, there should definitely be a noticeable improvement in amount of total earnings! Check out what I’m doing to improve this month!

To Improve (February 2008):

  • Increase Website Traffic — To keep increasing website traffic means to keep increasing the potential to earn money off of my site. Increasing traffic certainly isn’t the only thing that needs to be done to earn more money, but it’ll definitely help!
  • Consider Another 125 x 125 Row — I’ve considered opening up another 125 x 125 row of advertisements. Yes, I have already added another row of three since last month. If I chose to add another row, I’d have a total of 9 (most websites have a chunk of 8) which would most likely increase profits. How? By having a total of 9, I could open up the three extra advertisements for sale to other bloggers / companies or I could put some advertisements from affiliates there.
  • Add More Ad-Sense — If I were to integrate Ad-Sense into every other post that I make for the month of February, I think I will make more this month than last month off of Ad-Sense alone. I may give that a shot or may choose to incorporate some Bidvertiser advertisements into my posts as well. It’s never good to put all of your “eggs in one basket” when monetizing your blog and throwing some Bidvertiser in the mix may be a good experiment that will prove to make more money.
  • Add a “Text-Link-Ads” Widget — The idea behind Text-Link-Ads is that someone or a company “buys a link” on your website and pays a monthly fee for their hyperlink to be displayed. If someone were to buy a Text-Link-Ad. on my website, I believe I’d be earning at least $15 dollars extra this month.
  • Use “Scratchback” — I recently decided to sign-up for a “scratchback” account. As you can see, I’ve installed a bright red “scratchback” widget which displays links to website’s that I approve. Through “scratchback,” I’ve already made money [2 purchases in less than 2 days]. The cool thing about using scratchback is that you, as the site owner, are able to configure the price it costs to buy a link on your widget and are able to approve or decline advertisement links. Currently, the price to advertise on AndrewPavelski dot Com is only $1. Get your spot before they’re all gone!

Conclusion: Though January 2008, was by no means a big month for earnings, it was a start. Earning a grand total of $7.29 is definitely better than earning anything less. It is also serves as a motivational statement for improvement! Looking at my earnings for this month, I realize that the only way to go is up! Keep following the journey for more money making techniques and watch as I significantly jump-start my earnings and significantly boost my traffic in February 2008! Until next month…
