1) Read other niche-related blogs – Reading other niche-related blogs has potential to help you spark your own ideas. Maybe you are able to put a different spin on a topic that people would like to read about, maybe an idea popped into your head after reading a certain post. Always be reading and checking out other blogs – they help generate new, innovative ideas.

2) Check your comments section
– Reader comments can be a great way to learn what your readers would like you to blog about. Always be checking and interacting with your visitor’s comments to find out good topics to blog about.

3) Post in a forum
– What type of discussion is going on in the forums? Bring some of the forum drama or questions back to your own blog. After you’ve written a good article, post it in the forum category and watch the traffic to your blog increase! Learn more about good forums here: forum evaluations.

4) Read a book – Reading books is an awesome way to generate new ideas. After reading a book you can blog about successful strategies within the book or just write a review of the book. Either way, you have a great book to blog about. The next book I hope to blog about is “The 4 Hour Workweek.”

5) Download & read an e-book – Evaluate a free or purchased e-book that you’ve recently read. Discuss and share strategies from the e-book within your blog post. Tell your readers where they can find and download the e-book that you’ve read. E-books can be a great topic to blog about.

6) Have a contest – Not only is having a contest a phenomenal way to increase website traffic, it is a great topic to blog about. Having a contest gives you something to blog about: contest start post, contest updates posts, and a contest results post. Try this out sometime if you haven’t already!

7) Allow guest posting – I don’t know if you’re a frequent John Cow visitor, but he bombards his blog with quality guest posts. Let your readers know that you are okay with guest posting and tell them to send you posts to review that they’d like to be posted. Most guest posters are great, but be sure to read and review their posts before publishing.

8) Check out the news
– There is always drama going on in the news. Ranging from the 2008 Presidential Campaign to the War In Iraq, there’s always something that you can blog about when having a tough day. Write about what’s going on, how it affects you, and how it affects your readers!

9) Check comments on other blogs – Not only should you check the comments section on your own blog for something to write about, but you should check comments on other blogs. Blogs like Problogger’s and John Chow’s fill up with a large amount of comments and debate. Check their comments section and write about a topic that their readers would like to read up on.

10) Write about sites in your RSS feed – If you are out of all other ideas, why not write about the site’s in your RSS feed? Share them with your readers and let your readers know why you follow those sites.

11) Write about visitor’s articles – Check out your top commentators’ websites and check out their articles. Poke around their website a bit. Write about several articles that you found interesting and share some link love.

12) Brainstorm – Have a brainstorming session – make a brainstorming web for crying out loud! Write about all possible topics that you could blog about successfully. If you cannot think of any topics to blog about, re-read this list!

13) Post an old article – consider posting one of your older articles that many people haven’t read. When a blog is brand new it posts some quality articles to attract a reader base. However, those articles are now backed-up in the archives. Re-post those articles and make them more well-known to your current reader base. Not everyone digs around in the archives! Bring that baby back out to the front page!

14) Exchange articles – If you cannot think of anything to write about, consider exchanging old articles with another website. By exchanging with another site, visitors are more likely to read new material and everyone will be happy!

15) Write about a social networking program – Whether it’s StumbleUpon, Digg, or reddit, consider writing about a social networking program. Have you had success with a certain program? Do you find that using Digg drags down your server? Share your experiences with your readers!

16) Write about monthly earnings – Whether you make a little money or a lot of money from blogging, consider writing about it. People love to read about website earnings! Post up that big check from affiliate marketing or from Google Ad-Sense. If you aren’t currently making a lot of money, write about ways to improve on your earnings.

17) Post a popular YouTube video – There are always some great YouTube video’s that I’m sure your readers wouldn’t mind you posting. YouTube vids. are entertaining and just plain fun to watch. Check for a YouTube video related to your website’s niche – if at all possible.

18) Write about monthly trafficYou’ve seen me do it, so why not join the fun? Blog about your monthly traffic and ways to increase the amount of visitors to your website! Posting your monthly traffic statistics is an awesome way to attract more readers.

19) Make a YouTube video – If you don’t want to post someone elses YouTube video, I suggest you make one. It is something to do and a nice little project for your blog. When uploading the video to WordPress, consider using the plugin called “Revver” to help you earn some extra money with each video view.

20) Post what you ate for dinner – John Chow’s website is a classic example of this. When in doubt, bring your camera to a nice restaurant and write about the food you ate, your waitress, total bill, and whatever else was on your mind. People like seeing food – post up pictures and watch the comments section explode!

21) Write about your affiliate programs
– Are you making money from affiliate programs? If so, what programs do you recommend? What programs work the best? Share some advice with your readers and tell them what your recommendations for affiliate marketing.

22) Write about your website’s progress – Have you set any goals for your website to achieve? How much progress have you made towards the achievement of your goals? Blog about where you stand in relation to your goals and what you are doing to make progress towards them.

23) Write about your site layout – Write the benefits and drawbacks about your site’s layout. Does your website look good? What coding have you changed around to make it look better?

24) Post up WordPress themes – You can always post up WordPress themes that you recommend checking out. Readers love the chance at downloading free new WordPress themes. Post up those themes and write about why you particularly like your selections.

25) Post helpful WordPress Plugins – People always enjoy downloading an extra free WordPress plugin to help out their blog. Post some WordPress plugins that you currently use and that other bloggers should definitely download.

26) Write about your life – People like to hear about other’s lives. Write about who you are, where you came from, and what you are hoping to achieve in your online adventures! People like to know that there is actually a human behind your blogging posts.

27) Discuss advertisement placementDiscuss advertisement placements that you’ve found to be the most effective for your website. What combinations have helped make you the most money so far? Write about ways that others can improve their advertisement placement!

28) Write about web-hosting – Web-hosting is a big issue that leaves many people puzzled. Educate your readers and let them know what to look for in a good web host and hosting services.

29) Discuss S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) strategies – Help your readers learn ways to optimize their content in a way that they are able to generate large amounts of website traffic from search engines like Google. People always like to read up on a few good SEO tips!

30) Write about where to buy a cheap domain – There are several site’s that you can write about and compare for this topic. Let your visitors know how easy it is to quickly search and find cheap web-domain.

31) Write about how you’re improving your blog – Every blog can improve in certain areas. Document a list of ways to improve your blog and share them with your readers.

32) Post common mistakes that new bloggers make
– A simple, yet powerful blog entry is posting mistakes that new bloggers make. Posting mistakes that are preventable and that will help new bloggers will definitely attract traffic and potentially help many people from getting off to a rough start.

33) Post what you think about “.blogspot” blogs
– There is a lot of controversy that “.blogspot” blogs have caused in the blogosphere. Write your reaction to the large amount of “.blogspot” blogs and whether or not you find them tolerable.

34) Post about John Chow’s blog – John Chow is a man of controversy and has a huge reader base at his blog. Bring some of the drama and controversy to your own blog by posting what you think about his blog. Love his blog or hate his blog, let it be known to your blog readers.

35) Write about your online goals
– Do you have any goals that you’d like to accomplish online? Or are you just a hardcore internet junkie? Either way, you have something to blog about and share with your readers! If you do have goals, let them be known to your reading community – you will probably be more likely to follow through with them!

36) Write about your posting frequency – How often do you post? What posting frequency works best for you? There are many different posting frequency strategies that work. Write about how often you are posting and how your current strategy is working out.

37) Write a website review – If you get paid for the review, great. If you don’t get paid, at least you have something to write about. Offer to write a free website or blog review. Writing reviews of a certain product or company gives you a writing topic and credibility.

38) Write a review of Entrecard – Want to bring more Entrecard traffic from search engines to your website? Want to get Entrecard traffic to stay on your website for awhile to read an article? Then write a review of the Entrecard phenomenon that has taken the blogosphere by storm!

39) Discuss the effectiveness of Blogrush
– Is the Blogrush widget effective at increasing traffic? Many people seem to think that it is completely ineffective, while others think it definitely generates a moderate amount of traffic. What do you think? What has been your experience with Blogrush? Blog about it!

40) Write about Entrecard droppers
– Did John Chow just drop his Entrecard on your website? (Not to brag or anything, but he has on mine…) Then find a way to write about your biggest Entrecard drops!

41) Challenge another blogger’s article
– Challenge the key points in another, successful blogger’s article to get your blog noticed. Make a good argument and you have some extra traffic with a free topic to blog about.

42) Ask visitors if they enjoy your theme
– Include a poll that asks your visitors whether or not they enjoy your current website theme. Write about what you like and dislike about your current theme. After the poll is complete, write about the results and whether or not you are going to change your current theme around a bit.

43) Remind visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed – Write a post that urges readers to subscribe to your RSS feed! Be persuasive and convince more people to subscribe to your RSS. Let it be known that you want more RSS subscribers. By the way, subscribe to my feed if you haven’t already…)

44) Write about contests on other sites – I’ve written about site contests in the past. Website contests are a great, freebie-of-a-blog-entry! Many contests require you to write or link to their website in a post anyways, so why not just combine them all into one big “blog contests” post?!

45) Have a competition with another blogger – This could be something like challenging another blogger to be the first to reach 1,000 RSS subscribers. Not only will this strategy motivate you as a blogger, it will force you to generate new content and push your existing limits. By having a competition with another blogger, you will be able to post about: the competition, competition updates, and competition results.

46) Write about guest posting – Writing about your experiences with guest writing on other blogs is a great thing to blog about. Let your readers know which guest posts generated the most traffic and the benefits of guest posting.

47) Write how you are able to balance blogging with life – Are you able to successfully achieve a balance between blogging and life? Does blogging overtake activities like exercise and play? I wrote an article entitled “How To Balance Blogging With Life” that I recommend you check out.

48) Make a top 10 list – Making a top 10 list is an easy, yet effective way to build up blog traffic. People love reading top 10 lists because they are catchy and simple to follow! Make a top 10 list and watch the article soar on a social networking program!

49) Post about this list on your website – Write a reaction to reading this great list on your website! This list is a great, powerful set of ideas that should be shared with other bloggers. Have people check it out!

50) Post about Andrew Pavelski dot Com – Probably your best option on this list is posting about the site that brought you this phenomenal list! What do you think about my website?
