Ever notice that little website logo in the upper left corner of your browser customized to fit the page you are on? That little logo is the site’s “icon image.” If you look in the upper left hand corner on the firefox page tab OR Internet explorer page tab, there is a customized red & black “AP” logo to represent www.AndrewPavelski.com. Website logos, or “icon images” are very valuable to let site visitors know that you are serious about your company. If you don’t already have one, I highly recommend that you create one and upload it onto your website! It is very easy!

I don’t know if my blog has yet been banned by Wordpress, but MaxBlogPress’s “Ping Optimizer” should help to prevent any future possibility of getting my blog banned! According to MBP, there are some “major flaws” in the Wordpress pinging-system that can get your blog banned AND make it lose valuable traffic. I don’t want to take any chances of getting my precious blog banned by Wordpress, so I did some research…

What happens when a blog pings?

When a blog pings, it sends out updated information from your blog to search engines and across the rest of the web. Each time you update your blog, you should use a pinging service to let the web know that your blog is updated! By using the pinging service, you send a “ping” to them and they send your blog’s information across the web. Basically, your blog “ping” contains your name and URL and is usually in XML format. The pinging services (i.e. Ping-O-Matic) have servers that are able to accept “pings” and process the XML formats.

Staying on the grind, looking for another way to monetize my website, I stumbled upon the MaxBlogPress website. The MaxBlogPress website features and explains custom designed plugins to help bloggers and website owners via Wordpress. At the MaxBlogPress website, I found a plugin that generates a “Deal Dot Com” widget on my homepage sidebar. Since “Deal Dot Com” is one of John Chow’s recommended money makers, I decided to check out this plugin.

Lately, I’ve been slaving away at recruiting high-quality, successful Wordpress plug-ins for this website. My initial plan is to get all of my WordPress plug-ins installed, then begin writing posts. In this post, I’ve provided you with a high-quality list of my recommended plug-ins.

If you don’t already have these installed on your Wordpress, I highly recommend that you check them out!

The extensive plug-in list:

  • Ad-Sense Earnings Plug-In - This allows me to see how much money I’ve made w/ Google Ad-Sense w/ out having to log-in @ google.com… I don’t know how effective this one is yet. I’m looking for promptness, whether it delivers the earnings report as quickly as logging into google. If this plug-in works out, it will really be a timesaver!
