entretrap.jpgLately, I’ve been using the program Entrecard to drop my “online business card” on over 200 other sites. So far, I have built up quite a bit of Entrecard traffic and think that it definitely has increased my RSS subscriber numbers. I do, however, feel that using Entrecard can prove to be a waste of valuable time. I have used the Power Dropping technique and have bookmarked the fastest loading websites [that display Entrecard] into several folders. For a couple weeks, everyday straight, I dropped my card on over 180 websites. What did I get in return? I definitely had increased the amount of traffic to my website, but was it quality traffic and was using Entrecard worth my time?

walkdog.jpg1) Walking the dog — Taking your dog for a walk is a win-win situation. You can use the time spent walking your dog to think of great new blogging ideas. Going outside and getting away from the computer is a great way to think of new blogging ideas. When you take your dog for a walk, consider bringing along a small notepad to quick jot down any ideas that come to mind so that you do not forget by the time the walk is done. My dog enjoys the exercise, sniffing around, and taking care of business while on a walk much more than a quickie in the front yard. If you haven’t taken your pet for a walk in awhile, consider this time to benefit your pet and a personal time to think of new ideas for your blog. Everyone benefits from the walk and getting some fresh air! If you currently walk your dog on a daily basis, this blogging tip should be right up your alley! Don’t waste your time staring at the computer screen, straining your brain to think of new ideas — get up and go for a walk!

948912_ico_id_2.jpgWhere do you think of new blogging ideas? Are you at a loss for ideas and have been staring at your computer screen frustrated because you can’t think of what to write about? I know what it feels like to have writer’s block or in this case blogger’s block. As a blogger, I want to minimize the chances of this “block” occurring. If I don’t take responsibility for thinking of new ideas at the right times, I waste too much time. If you can’t think of new ideas, this article will definitely help you to get your brain into a mental state where endless ideas seem to “flow” with little or no effort.

thinkbig.jpgNow, I realize that $10 million dollars may sound “too big to think about.” For me, $10 million dollars is a completely realistic goal. I understand completely that my journey to reaching $10 mill’ may include some tough work, but I know that I can make it happen and learn a lot in the process. When setting up your site’s monetary goals, it’s definitely important to live up to your potential and not be afraid to think big! I set the bar fairly high at $10 million dollars: most people would say: “Wow, Andrew Pavelski sure isn’t afraid to think big!” When setting your online goals, are they determined by what “other’s will think” about your goal? Or are you going to use the excuse of “just being realistic.” The real question you should ask yourself after setting your goal is: “Am I afraid to think big?” Quite frankly, it seems that many people are afraid to think big, or do think big, but cannot back up their “big thoughts” with the necessary actions.

successful.jpgIn a new series on AndrewPavelski.com, I’ve decided to dig deeper into the depths of successful blogs and discover what makes them so successful. As you can see, I’ve added a new category entitled “Successful Blogs” that I will be updating on a weekly basis. This week, I’ve decided to blog about Alan Johnson, owner of The Rating Blog, who was able to go from ZERO RSS subscribers to 1,000 in less than 30 days! I’ve decided to analyze his current blogging success story and write my interpretation of what has made his success skyrocket in such a short period of time.

So how did Alan Johnson create such a popular blog in such a short period of time?

1300071_27663873.jpgIt has definitely been another successful week here at AndrewPavelski.com! Early on in the week, I discussed 10 Easy Ways To Make Money Online. This article makes you realize that there aren’t any easy immediate ways to make money online. However, if you work at and are willing to learn about the 10 money-making techniques that I discussed, you will be able to create relatively easy sources of online income.

A bit later in the week, I discussed what makes a good WordPress Permalink Structure for SEO. Astrit also wrote up a nice article that covered all questions I had about website permalinks. To find out if your permalinks are in good shape or need some spicing up, I highly recommend checking out both of these articles and learn from my mistake!

priority.jpgThe goal of most bloggers, especially in the “make money online” niche, is to attract visitors to their blog. Once they are able to attract large amounts of visitors to their blog, they are virtually guaranteed to make money with proper ad placement. The fact of the matter is, you won’t make much money off of your blog until you are able to consistently draw in large amounts of traffic. Consistently drawing in large amounts of traffic is usually a byproduct of things like: a quality website design, good promotion, longevity in the blogging industry, and most importantly, quality content. I’ll admit that I sometimes catch myself reading other blogs for way longer than I would’ve liked. I could spend all day reading motivating articles from Steve Pavlina’s personal development blog, but nothing would get accomplished on AndrewPavelski.com. If you are serious about blogging, you need to find a balance between the promotion and creation of your own website, and not spend all your time reading other blogs.

permalinks.jpgAn introduction to permalinks

Just recently, I had someone evaluate my blog. They liked the content and what I’d done so far, but there were definitely some areas that they thought I could improve in. We began chatting and got around to talking about permalinks. In case you aren’t aware, permalinks are “URL’s that point to a specific blogging entry, even after the blogging entry has passed from the front page to the archives.” When you open up WordPress, and click on the “Options” tab, and find the tab entitled “permalinks.” After clicking on the permalinks tab, you are given options to edit their structure. It was recommended to me, by the man that evaluated my blog, that I change my permalink structure from a “numeric” style to a “date and name based” style to improve my site’s search engine rankings.
