cuttingback.jpgThough I really enjoy posting everyday on Andrew Pavelski dot com, I also enjoy working on my other online projects. Lately, I have been cranking out some really quality posts on one of my other blogs and have seen awesome results with very little promotion. I plan on focusing more of my efforts towards some of my other projects and see what will happen with some decent promotion. Don’t think I’m going to bail out or put forth less of an effort here - I wouldn’t do that.

Why I’ve decided to cut back on my posting frequency

videoblogging.jpgVideo blogging is “the future of blogging”

Whether you enjoy video blogging or not, it is a thing of the future and is currently being utilized by many bloggers across the net to give them an edge on their competitors. People cannot get enough of Darren Rowse’s videos over at Problogger.net and many bloggers are starting to realize that creating a video can be a pretty valuable tool to help promote their website or blog. Though I’ve never personally created a video, I have thought more about how the use of a webcam has revolutionized blogging and has proved to be a great medium for bloggers to share their advice through. If you haven’t considered making a video to help boost your blogging career and promote your website, you may want to seriously reconsider! There are so many benefits that video blogging has to offer, that you’d be really missing out if you never give it a shot.

132665_lottery_winner.jpgIf you won the lottery today…

If you won the lottery jackpot today and had all of your finances settled would you throw a big party and skip blogging for the day? …Or would you immediately share the fact that you won the lottery with your blog readers? Winning a large amount of money is exciting, feels great, and has potential to make the financial part of life much easier! What I want to know from you: “If you won the lottery, would you still blog?” Be completely honest with me and yourself… feel free to share your response in the comments section below… I am very curious to find out. Would the jackpot winnings influence you to change direction in life and cut back on blogging? Would you convince yourself to quit blogging altogether? I have been asking myself this question for awhile and have wondered how my career as a blogger would be affected if I won the lottery.

successful.jpgMaking a great contribution to my “successful blogs” section of Andrew Pavelski dot com last week was a great analysis of Courtney Tuttle’s Internet Marketing School. Last week I discussed why Court’s website has drawn in such a large crowd and how he was able to reach success relatively quickly in the blogosphere. There is a lot to learn from Court’s experience and I’m truly glad he enjoyed reading my analysis! This week, I’ve decided to take a deeper look at a blog that is packed page-to-page with quality content. I think that the number one reason for this blog’s success is due to the sheer amount of value that the author Maki [a philosophy student from Toronto, Canada] shares with his readers. I discovered Dosh Dosh sometime in late 2007 and can fairly say that its content has stood out amongst other blogs and quickly captured my attention!

185289_w_w_w.jpgMany bloggers would quickly whip out their wallets and wouldn’t hesitate to buy a fair priced link on a website with a PR of 9!  Should you follow suit?  There is a lot more to buying and selling PageRank than meets the eye and a lot of interesting information that you should be aware of if you ever consider buying links or taking advantage of your pagerank to sell links. As a follow up to yesterday’s article: Going From PageRank Zero To PageRank Superstar, I’ve decided to discuss more about Google PageRank.

Selling links on your website

  • “Do-follow links” - The links that are sold to increase pagerank are referred to as “do-follow” links. Do-follow links signify that the link has a direct impact on the pagerank of the website in which you are linking to.

956084___stars__.jpgWhat is “Pagerank?” A high Google PageRank a.K.a. “PR” always attracts attention in the blogosphere. For those of you not familiar with pagerank I’ll give you a brief definition: pagerank = a numeric value that represents how important your website is and how well your website ranks when compared to all other webpages. Here is the more advanced definition of pagerank [courtesy of Wikipedia]: “a family of algorithms for assigning numerical weightings to hyperlinked documents (or web pages) indexed by a search engine. The PageRank system is used by the popular search engine Google to help determine a page’s relevance or importance. It was developed by Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin while at Stanford University in 1998.”

How can you determine your pagerank?
